The Glasgow tenement is an icon of the city’s architecture. It is also often used as a by-word for deprivation and slum housing, but this is far from the truth. A tenement is a style of stone-built building with a series of flats accessed from a communal stairway, and they were built for all levels of Glasgow society from the poorest to the richest. This Is My Glasgow’s Tenements of Glasgow 2027 calendar is an A4 (29.7 cm by 21.0 cm) spiral-bound calendar with one page per month, each of which features a photograph of a different Glasgow tenement. These photographs have been chosen to show the diversity associated with this style of building which can be found across the city.
